TWO WEEKS CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING
CAMP FULLER CORE VALUES
CARING: We lead with compassion for others. We show kindness to others through out actions and a sincere concern.
HONESTY: To be sincere and truthful in the things that you do.
RESPECT: To treat others the way they want to be treated.
RESPONSIBILITY: To do what is right and be accountable for your behavior and own actions.
PASSION: A combination of energy, love, and an unrelenting drive to do what intrigues, challenges, and defines us as a Fuller community and as individuals
WHAT ACTIVITIES DOES CAMP FULLER OFFER?
Camp Fuller is a traditional overnight camp. This means we offer a large range of activities ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate in a few activities they feel safe and confident in while also offering a supportive environment for campers to explore new interests.
WHAT ACTIVITIES DOES CAMP FULLER OFFER?
Campers choose what activities they want to take. That means that in a given summer, your camper will not do every activity that we offer at camp. That is by design. We want our campers to really dive into and grow in the skills of each program they choose to be part of!
Activities are based on the choices that our campers make. Campers sign up for activities that they will do all week to build confidence through competence. Our staff work with each camper to set goals and help them achieve them, reminding campers to “Shoot for the Moot because even if you miss, you will land among the star!”

When campers register for camp, they pay a non-refundable deposit. The remaining amount for camp is split between April 1st and June 1st (50/50). After April 1st, any refunds due to cancellations will only be issued for medical reasons or outside emergency situations. We do not provide refunds for behavioral challenges or campers who go home early by their choice or camp’s decision. All refunds are subject to approval by the Camp Director / Executive Director.
We have this policy as we must plan for the summer based on the number of campers that we have registered. Come April 1st, we are solidifying our staffing and the purchase of supplies / equipment. If we were counting on your camper as of April 1st, much of that commitment has already been made!
-
Please come visit us by SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT FIRST. During the off season we are not always here in the office and Camp Fuller is private property. We know that everyone loves to come visit and show their friends and family our beautiful Camp Fuller by the sea, but we CANNOT have visitors on the property unless one of our year round staff is present. If you would like to set up a time to come visit, please email campfuller@gpymca.org to set up a time. We thank you for your understanding.

We try to camp insulated from the outside world, not only to build the community at camp, but also to keep outside distraction for the experience. Because of this, no cell phones or data / WiFi enabled devices may be brought to camp. The only electronics we do allow are camera (that are just cameras), batter operated fans, and flashlights.
We are also a nut aware facility, meaning that we do not cook with any nut products in our kitchen. We ask families to not send any snacks that have any nut products in them.
Finally, we are a drug / alcohol / weapon free facility. Anything that is a vitamin or stronger must be held by our infirmary as medication. Weapons included pocket knives/multi-tools.
-
Yes, we have an on-site infirmary and an EMT or higher on staff 24/7. Basic first aid and medication administration will be addressed on site. Anything beyond that will involve the parents in consultation of the next move. Local hospital and urgent care are less than 10 minutes away.
We also have a Director of Mental Health on our team who will assist with any mental health needs of our campers and work with parents if any concerns arise.
-
In case of an emergency, camp uses 911 and emergency medical services to treat your child, and parents or guardians are notified immediately. The local hospital and urgent care are less than 10 minutes away. Any medications prescribed as a result of an injury or illness while at camp are billed to the families insurance and if payment is made by camp, the charge will be passed onto the family. Camp is not responsible for any medical charges incurred while your child is at camp.
-
It is normal for campers of all ages to experience homesickness at camp. Our staff is trained in managing camper homesickness. It is common for children to feel homesick for the first few days as they adjust to being in a new place with new people. This is also a reason why cell phones are not allowed at camp. Homesickness is a challenge that can be overcome. If your camper can just call or text home, it is a challenge they avoid facing. We try to build coping tools and resilience at camp and this is one of the ways we do that!

ALL BUNKMATE REQUESTS ARE MADE IN CAMPDOC, OUR INFORMATION GATHERING PROGRAM. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A BUNKMATE REQUEST VIA EMAIL!
Here at Camp Fuller, we believe in the importance of new experiences. We understand coming to camp and being away from home can be a really scary time for a camper but part of the magic of camp is facing new challenges and making new friends. This shared experience is what creates incredible friendships and bonds in a cabin. Other key information to remember is if your child and their friend are the same age, they will be in the same division which means they will be in cabins just a few feet away from each other! During the day you do not stay with your cabin group, so two friends can sign up for all the same activities and be together all day! We highly suggest not bunking with a buddy so that your camper can have a great experience meeting new friends and creating a family-like bond with their cabin. Remember they will still have the opportunity to be with their friend all day in program areas!
If necessary, campers may submit a request to bunk with one buddy. Campers may only request to bunk with one buddy no exceptions. In order for the request to be considered, the request must be mutual, meaning that both campers have requested each other, and both campers must be in the same division. All bunk requests are approved at the discretion of your campers Division Leader and the Camp Director. Chain buddy requests are strictly prohibited and will not be granted.

The most effective way for you to communicate with your child is through Bunk 1. Bunk1 is a website designed for making communication between campers and parents effortless. You can create an account to have access to camp photos as well as “bunk notes.” ‘Bunk notes’ are one-way electronic messages similar to emails that get printed and delivered to campers daily. Campers do not have access to the internet, but they are able to write letters in reply and send them out daily. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE YOUR CAMPER RECEIVES COMMUNICATION FROM YOU.
USPS does not deliver to camp during the summer. We go to them every day to pick up mail. So it normally takes longer than normal for Mail to get to camp. It also sometimes takes longer than normal for the Post Office to receive the mail itself!
Amazon: Amazon delivers daily directly to our administration building, normally on the expected arrival date listed on the website. This is a great way for you to ensure your child receives their care package in a timely fashion. Please have the package addressed to your campers using this format:
Camper Name
Division and Cabin Number
YMCA Camp Fuller
619 Camp Fuller Road
Wakefield, RI, 02879
2. Drop off care packages on check-in day: Another great option to ensure prompt arrival and save you some money on postage is to drop off care packages at the office on check-in day. You can leave mail with us that is addressed to your campers and has the day of the week you would like us to deliver it to your camper. This is a guaranteed way to ensure all mail arrives the day you would like it to and avoid the Post Office all together! -
We do allow campers to have a small shoebox-sized rubber bin to store snacks in. However, we are a rustic outdoor camp and any food left open for even a short time can attract friends such as mice and chipmunks. The Camp Store will have a concession stand open during Siesta and Free Time for campers to purchase a variety of healthy snacks as well as chips, and candy. All purchases are made through their camp store accounts. This is a safe way to ensure no extra friends find their way into the cabins. If you do send your child with snacks we are a peanut tree nut-free camp and any peanut or nut butter will be disposed of. We also do not encourage any kind of chocolate or items that can melt as the cabins are not temperature controlled and things will melt.
